live stream ogg theora ffmpeg2theora oggfwd

1.- install ffmpeg2theora: compiling ffmpeg2theora


2.- install dvgrab de http://www.kinodv.org/article/static/1

(dvgrab2.0 is not packaged, at the moment, but is not required)

./configure
make
(as root) make install

or

apt-get install dvgrab


3.- install libshout-2.2 de http://mediacast1.com/~karl/

./configure
make
make install

or

apt-get install libshout3
apt-get install libshout-dev


4.- install oggfwd de http://www.v2v.cc/~j/ffmpeg2theora/oggfwd/oggfwd.tar.gz

make clean
make oggfwd

( now oggfwd improved was implemented to official oggfwd)

apt-get install oggfwd


5 - get a mountpoint from giss.tv


STREAM:

(Stream need quite fast machine to get "real" webtv 320x240)

This is the command line:

dvgrab --format raw - | ffmpeg2theora -f dv -x 320 -y 240 -v 2 -a 0 -H
11025 -o /dev/stdout - | oggfwd
giss.tv 8000 ****** /caracas.ogg "GISS in WSF" http://r23.cc/
revolucion "Trollparty in Caracas" 1 /tmp/caracas.ogg


EXPLICATIONS:


dvgrab --format raw -

(capture video from ieee1394 aka firewire)


ffmpeg2theora -f dv -x 320 -y 240 -v 2 -a 0 -H
11025 -o /dev/stdout -

(video is encoded 320x240, theora/vorbis as video/audio codecs, quality video/audio 2/0,
audio sampling 11025 Htz)


oggfwd giss.tv 8000 ******

(oggfwd launch stream to server, giss.tv is name server, 8000 is port, xxxxxxx is
password you get with mountpoint)
